Injury Prevention
Chances are, if you’re a runner, you’ve been injured. Research shows you’re not alone: annually, up to 80% of runners experience a running-related injury. The good news is there are changes you can make to minimize your risk of injury and stay healthy.
This service seeks to identify areas of improvement that can help you achieve these goals. Each 75 minute evaluation includes the following:
A thorough review of your training program to identify training errors – consistently shown to be the leading cause of injury in runners
Full body running-specific screening to identify areas of improvement in:
Mobility/flexibility
Strength
Muscular Endurance
Soft Tissue Dysfunction
Formulation of a detailed plan that fits your training needs to address areas of improvement
Hands-on treatment to resolve minor issues before they develop into injuries
To maintain consistent and healthy running, we also offer follow-up visits for this service. These can be scheduled monthly or bi-weekly to ensure you’re still on the correct path to minimize injury. Time spent in these sessions is directed by your needs and can include modification of the plan, progression of exercises, and hands-on treatment.
